Rhonda Ceccato, Executive Director
Rhonda has more than 25 years of experience in the San Francisco Bay Areas non-profit sector. Substance abuse treatment is both her passion and her area of expertise. Starting as a substance abuse counselor, Rhonda has worked in several program management positions, and has spent the last fourteen years in executive management.
Since 1993, Rhonda has served as Executive Director of Sitike Counseling Center, a community-based treatment center that provides a variety of recovery services for hundreds of men, women, and children each year. Seeing a need for greater collaboration among community and government organizations, Rhonda co-founded the San Mateo County Alcohol and Drug Providers Coalition in 1995. The coalition provides a unified voice for its members and the community by advocating for the countys alcohol and drug prevention and early intervention delivery system.
Prior to beginning her tenure at Sitike, Rhonda was Executive Director for the San Francisco Chapter of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, an organization dedicated to overcoming the stigma and disease of alcoholism through education and the promotion of treatment, intervention, and prevention. Earlier, as Program Manager for the Womens Alcoholism Center in San Francisco, California, she played a key role in planning and designing the Bay Areas first residential treatment program for women with children. The result, Pomeroy House, quickly established a remarkable record of success.
Rhonda Ceccato was elected in 2003 to the San Mateo County Board of Education. She serves on the boards Strategic Planning sub-committee as well as on its Court and Community Schools sub-committee. In addition, she is an active member of both the South San Francisco Chamber of Commerce Education Committee and the South San Francisco Unified School Districts Positive Attendance Campaign.
Rhonda also lends her expertise as an active participant in other community organizations. She is a member of the Criminal Justice Council of San Mateo County, the San Mateo County Proposition 36 Implementation Committee, and the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors. In addition, she serves as a consultant to the Nurse Diversion Evaluation Board for the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.
